Development of a Didactic Educational Tool for Learning Fuzzy Control Systems

This paper presents the development of a virtual didactic tool for students mechatronic engineering taking an intelligent system course. The objective is to learn structures fuzzy control systems. makes it easier understand behavior membership functions input and output variables, evaluation set rules, method defuzzification, giving possibility applying controller in industrial processes using data acquisition board. proposed was developed with instrumentation software LabVIEW. It has advantage that can manipulate internal structure logic unique window where analyze signals by looking at response graphs. be easily translated real application LabVIEW compatible hardware. To have feedback from on use if this allows improvement their academic performance, 2-hour workshop given group 93 students. At end workshop, knowledge assessment perception survey were applied participants. performance achieved who teaching compared witnessed Matlab tools. statistical analysis results obtained shows had taken better compression topic Fuzzy Logic Toolbox provided MathWorks. mean grade 89.63/100, while Matlab’s tools 69.85/100. Also, students’ allowed design systems simple intuitive way.
